Access to plants and nature has been a pillar for so many of us during lockdown: a source of comfort which has helped us through this difficult time. It has also encouraged us to engage with nature in new ways: from balcony gardening to the grow-your-own-food movement.

The installation green memories pays tribute to those special moments spent in contact with nature. It features planters filled with a selection of plants capturing the essence of our collective sensory experiences of lockdown: walks in nature and parks, spending time in the garden, reconnecting with wildlife, and growing your own food.

Following the lockdown, we are once again able to access and spend time in public spaces, and to share the memories we have made dur- ing these months of isolation. The planters, which are designed in the form of a cluster, celebrate this pooling of experiences. Visitors can navigate their way through the cluster of planters, immersing themselves in the multitude of memories which relate to our experiences with nature. green memories thus offers a timely reminder of how much plants have helped us during the last year, and the new relationships we have formed with nature during this time.
